Well here we are again at the start of a new season, which will hopefully not be blighted by the Covid pandemic, that saw us having to 'null and void' the 2020-21 season.
The Committee worked hard, holding regular Zoom meetings, in the hope that we might be able to salvage some kind of League fixtures; albeit in a reduced format, with the restrictions appertaining at the time; but this was not possible. Therefore a reluctant decision to cancel the season entirely had to be taken in January.
We were able to 'put on hold' the outstanding Competitions for the previous season until restrictions allowed them to continue, as they had reached the Semi-Final stages, prior to the 'lockdown' in March last year. Paul Schofield, our Competitions Secretary, is currently working hard to achieve this.
Also special thanks go to John Bastow and Pete Gilbert during the past few months, by way of preparing for the new season.
Let us hope that better times lay ahead – and 'happy cueing' when we can all get back to the 'green baize' once again!
Best wishes
Tony Clegg
